Alexandre Moine is professor of geography at the University of Franche-Comté and a member of the ThéMA laboratory where he has headed the ‘Territorial Intelligence’ team since 2010. He is also in charge of the degree and masters courses in geography for the university’s Distance Learning Centre. In 2007 he published Le territoire : comment observer un système complexe (L’Harmattan) and is currently working on a book on setting up territorial diagnostics directed at social works (Presses de l’EHESP – june 2015 ). He was scientific director of the International Geography Festival of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges 2007–2009.
His research turns on the approach to the complexity of territories, especially through the implementation of systemic processes, to establish diagnoses or support the establishment of territorial observatories ( http://oserfc.org/ ). Another orientation concerns the boundary effects on spatial organisation and the interplay of actors in the Franco-Swiss Jura Arc. In this capacity he is vice-president of the Cross-Border Forum.
