Polar Worlds International Conference. Environmental and Social Sciences to Understand Observed Changes - Paris 26-28 January 2011

The International Polar Year 2007-2009 attracted public, scientific and political attention to polar regions. The main focus of the Polar Worlds Conference is to account for observed changes with a joint environmental and social perspective.

Changes in polar worlds are at the core of the main scientific fields as these regions are particularly prone to environmental and social evolutions. This conference will give an overview of certainties and uncertainties in current mutations.

In order to encourage interdisciplinary interactions, plenary sessions will be preferred, apart from a few specialised workshops.
